Welcome To Soshul
Soshul was developed out of a need to use Social Stories™ to help children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder's (ASD) develop their social skills and understanding.
”Social Stories™ were created by Carol Gray in 1991 to help teach social skills to people with autism. They are short descriptions of a particular situation, event or activity, which include specific information about what to expect in that situation and why.” - National Autistic Society
The aim of Soshul is to create resources for helping children with autism by developing;
- A structured and flexible framework to write and use Social Stories™
- A way of sharing Social Stories™ with those people supporting the children
- A range of other resources that can be used to help people with autism to develop their skills.
Soshul is continually being developed and refined, currently you can write, edit, style and use your stories on line and then download them as a PDF. There is also a simple Mind Map tool which is very useful in helping to plan, structure and organise activities.
